Election Campaign Guwahati: Modi speaks about his special association with tea

BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed a rally here on Saturday  named Maha Jagran Rally. Addressing a rally here Narendra Modi paid respect to martyrs. he said: "I am coming here after paying my homeage to all those who gave their lives in the creation of Assam." Assam has given many great people to the nation, he said. "I have stayed in every nook and corner of Assam," he said.

Narendra Modi, while addressing the rally here said that Assam was a land of tea and timber. "And you know my association with tea," he said. He said that he was concerned to see that a land as rich as Assam was witnessing poverty. "Why is Assam poor when it has natural resources in plenty. Who is responsible for it," he asked? "Out of the northeast states, Assam's condition is the worst," he said. "UPA is responsible for problems in Assam. If the PM wanted, he could have changed the face of Assam. Even the MP would have done more for Assam than the PM," he said.
